Saudi Craft Heritage Workshop, Feb 4, 2024, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia






The President of the World Crafts Council AISBL (WCC-International), Mr. Saad al-Qaddumi was invited to deliver a welcoming video greeting during the Saudi Craft Heritage Workshop that was held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on February 4, 2024. 


World Crafts Council AISBL (WCC-International) was represented by the WCC-International Vice President, Dr. Kevin Murray whose presence at the event not only elevated its significance but also underscored the collaboration between WCC-International and the Saudi Heritage Commission in the realm of cultural preservation. The workshop provided a platform to highlight WCC-International's dedication to the global heritage landscape and establish lasting connections for potential future projects.


The workshop aimed to showcase the commitment of WCC-International to heritage preservation and featured the presence of Dr. Jasir Al Harbash, CEO of the Saudi Heritage Commission.


WCC-International Vice-President Dr. Kevin Murray, with his extensive experience and expertise, guided participants on a journey to enhance their crafts. The workshop served as a gateway to WCC-International's flagship projects, including the World Craft City and the Award of Excellence, aligning with the organization's 60th-anniversary celebrations.


Dr. Kevin Murray commented “I was very impressed with the commitment of young Saudis to craft heritage and the many impressive new craft organisations that have been established. Their vision and energy will be a welcome addition to the World Crafts Council."
