A first look at new research on how fashion and homeware brands report – and overlook – the true impact of artisan production.
Organised by Keele University and League of Artisans
Join the official launch of CRAFTED. This is a landmark report revealing the hidden environmental risks in artisan supply chains across fashion and homeware brands.
On launch day, we invite you to explore the findings of the report. Our Artisans’ Index is the first benchmark of how 50 global brands disclose the environmental impacts of artisan production in their supply chains.
From embroidered textiles to jute rugs, high-end tailoring to luxury leather goods, artisan production underpins fashion and interiors worldwide. Yet environmental risks tied to these processes remain largely invisible. Building the Index, we put together the research underpinning our CRAFTED Report. This goes beyond brand disclosures. It combines fieldwork with artisan communities, scientific analysis, environmental data and supply chain mapping to spotlight risks. And it offers a roadmap for integrating artisan production into climate and circularity strategies.
Hosted by League of Artisans in collaboration with Keele University and funded by the IMPACT+ Innovation Network, this event brings together researchers, industry professionals, NGOs and makers for a first look at the report findings and what they mean for the future of sustainable sourcing.
