We are pleased to share details of the upcoming Kelantan Arts & Cultural Festival 2025 (KACF 2025), a major cultural celebration that will be held from 5th to 7th September 2025 at the Sultan Muhammad IV Stadium, Kota Bharu, Kelantan, Malaysia.

Organized by the Kelantan Tourism Information Centre (TIC) in collaboration with the Malaysian Craft Council (MCC), a National Entity member of WCC AISBL and endorsed by both the Kelantan State Government and the Federal Government through the National Heritage Department of Malaysia, the festival promises to be an extraordinary showcase of Malaysia’s vibrant traditions and living heritage.

Highlights of KACF 2025

Visitors and participants can look forward to:

  • Captivating cultural performances featuring renowned local celebrities, musicians, and artisans.

  • Special craft showcases by living masters of endangered traditional skills, including the intricate Kelingkan embroidery and Songket weaving.

  • Authentic Kelantanese culinary experiences, offering visitors a chance to savor the region’s rich food heritage.

  • A grand cultural parade aligned with UNESCO’s 2003 Convention on Intangible Cultural Heritage, featuring traditional attire, performances, and rituals that reflect the living traditions of the Malay Kelantanese community.

A Platform for Cultural Exchange

KACF 2025 is envisioned as more than a festival—it is a platform for cultural dialogue and exchange, celebrating traditional craftsmanship while encouraging innovation and collaboration. Local masters of crafts such as songket weaving, wau (kite) making, silvercraft, woodcarving, and shadow play will showcase their artistry through live demonstrations, interactive sessions, and dialogues with visitors.

Towards “World Craft City” Recognition

As part of Kelantan’s aspiration to nominate Kota Bharu as a WCC World Craft City, KACF 2025 will highlight the region’s dedication to safeguarding and promoting its cultural and creative heritage. The presence of international representatives, cultural leaders, and artisans is expected to further strengthen global appreciation of Kelantan’s enduring traditions.
