The World Crafts Council AISBL is pleased to share information about the upcoming III International Festival of Handicrafts, which will be held in Kokand, Uzbekistan, from 19–21 September 2025.

This prestigious event is organized under the initiative of H.E. Mr. Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and has become one of the most significant international gatherings dedicated to traditional crafts and applied arts.

Celebrating Craft Heritage

The Festival aims to preserve and develop age-old traditions of folk applied arts, promote unique and innovative designs, strengthen friendship and cultural cooperation, and highlight the invaluable heritage of handicraft schools passed down through generations. In addition, the event contributes to enhancing the tourism potential of the region by showcasing the creativity and skill of artisans from across the world.

Participation and Activities

The Festival will bring together over 250 international participants from more than 70 countries alongside more than 400 local artisans from Uzbekistan. The three-day program will include:

  • A grand international exhibition and contest of handicrafts

  • Interactive master classes by leading artisans

  • Theatrical concerts, cultural showcases, and educational programs

  • A scientific-practical conference on “Prospects for the Development of Crafts and Folk Arts”

A Global Stage for Artisans

The Kokand Festival provides an exceptional platform for artisans to present their crafts to a global audience, exchange experiences with peers, and build long-term partnerships and collaborations. Visitors and participants alike will have the opportunity to experience the rich traditions, artistry, and hospitality of Uzbekistan.

The WCC AISBL warmly acknowledges this important initiative and looks forward to celebrating the spirit of crafts and cultural exchange in Kokand this September.
