
From January 14 to 18, 2024, Al Sadu Weaving Co-operative Society (Sadu House), World Crafts Council AISBL (WCC-International) National Entity member in Kuwait hosted a remarkable exhibition, featuring a diverse array of Kashmir Shawls. The event was organized by Sadu House Kuwait in collaboration with the esteemed Kashmir Loom Company from India.
The event was inaugurated by the Indian Ambassador Dr. Adarsh Swaika and was attended by the President of the World Crafts Council AISBL, Mr. Saad al-Qaddumi and the WCC-International Secretariat, as well as many distinguished guests, including Ambassadors from various countries and Kuwaiti dignitaries.
The exhibition showcased Kashmir Loom's masterpieces, including vintage-style coats with hand embroidery, Ikat-dyed pashmina, and a curated collection of hand-embroidered cushions and home objects in traditional Papier Mache. This marked the first-time Kuwait witnessed the display of Kashmir Loom’s vintage-style coats, creating a unique cultural experience for attendees.
